Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 6 Eligibility Criteria
- Only bonafide resident candidates from the district where Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is located are eligible for admission.
- The candidate must reside in the district where they are seeking admission in the JNV located in the same District.
- Candidates must study class V in any of the Govt. or Govt. recognized schools located in the same District.
- Candidates must be within the age group of 10 to 12 years, including those belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs).
- A provisionally selected candidate must produce a copy of the birth certificate issued by the Government authority concerned at the time of admission.
- A candidate appearing for the selection test must be studying in Class-V for the whole of the academic session in a Government/Government or other recognized schools or a ‘B’ certificate competency course of the National Institute of Open Schooling in the same district where they are seeking admission.
- A candidate seeking admission to class VI must have studied and passed classes III, IV, and V from a Govt. /Govt. aided/ recognized school spending one full academic session in each class.
- Candidates passing the ‘B’ certificate competency course of the National Institute of Open Schooling on or before 15th September of the year in which they are applying for the selection test are also eligible to write an admission test provided they are in the prescribed age group.
- No candidate is eligible to appear in the selection test for the second time, under any circumstances.
- A child who desires to avail of the benefits under the scheme must furnish proof of possession of the Aadhaar number or undergo Aadhaar authentication.
- Any child who desires to avail the benefits under the scheme, who does not possess an Aadhaar Number or has not yet enrolled for Aadhaar, must make an application for Aadhaar Enrolment subject to the consent of his/her parents or guardians before registering for the scheme.
